Synopsis
Faking his own death in a plane crash of his own making, Matt Murdock
has decided to live only under the identity of Daredevil. Showing up at
the grieving Karen Page’s home to give her his walking stick as a
keep-sake, DD leaves and tries to start a new life. However he soon
realizes that he needs his cane/billy club in order to get around the
city, and so he is forced to sneak in at night while Karen is asleep and
steal it back.
After a brief fight with some common thieves and giving a brief
assist to Spider-Man, Daredevil soon hears about a challenge being posed
by his foe Mr. Fear. He eventually accepts Fear’s challenge and the two
get into a fight, however during the course of the combat, DD suddenly
becomes a coward and runs away.

Synopsis
US Senator Harrington Byrd has commissioned Stark Industries to build
a new submarine, which is to be tested by Iron Man. When Happy Hogan
offers to test the sub in Iron Man’s place, Tony Stark declines which
puts Happy down.
While testing the sub out at sea, Iron Man soon stumbles upon
Attuma and his army who are building giant weapons for Attuma’s latest
plan to try and take over the surface world. Attacking before Attuma can
implement a missile which would make it hard for humans to breath on
the surface, Iron Man makes quick work of Attuma’s troops and super
weapons. However in a one-on-one battle with Attuma, Iron Man is quickly
defeated and imprisoned by the Atlantean warlord.
Breaking free of his prison, Iron Man then uses the experimental
sub to destroy Attuma’s weapon, before returning to the surface. There,
Iron Man doesn’t tell the others of Attuma’s attack, and Senator Byrd
assumes that the tests failure is due to Tony Stark’s apparent playboy
attitude. To make matters worse, Happy Hogan had left while Iron Man was
fighting Attuma.

Synopsis
A pair of A.I.M. agents, fleeing the fight with Fury, are picked up
on the road by “Number Nine” of “The Secret Empire”– which turns out to
be another branch of “THEM”! But as they drive off, the A.I.M. men are
gassed unconscious, as “Number Nine” turns out to be the long-missing
Gabe Jones, working undercover! Fury clues in the V.I.P.s as to the
situation, while Jasper trails Royale to A.I.M.’s mountain-side hidden
base– just before the entire place is destroyed in a colossal
explosion! Dugan comments on how they preferred blowing themselves up
because they were discovered, while Fury feels “someone bigger” finished
them off when their usefulness ended. When they’re almost killed by a
mysterious energy ray, Fury realizes “THEM” and HYDRA are one and the
same, and it’s up to SHIELD to find them, before they strike first.
