Synopsis
Dr. Strange is attacked in his Sanctum by the Agent of Fortune, a
member of a cult that wishes to bring about Xenogensis, that would birth
demons on Earth. Seeking to steal the Eye of Agamotto, the Agent
manages to defeat Dr. Strange in combat and make off with the Eye.
Elsewhere, Bruce Banner and Valkyrie visit Ledge in the hospital
and are later invited to a nightclub by Dollar Bill. There they are
witness to Devil-Slayer rejecting an offer by Vera Gemini. His attack is
misunderstood by the two Defenders who attack, Banner turning into the
Hulk. To avoid capture, Devil-Slayer escapes in his Shadow Cloak, taking
Val and Hulk along with him.
While in Avenger’s Mansion, the security alarm is set off by Jack
Norriss who is looking for Nick Fury. And finally in the jungles of
Mexico, two archeologists stumble upon the temple of the cult trying to
bring about Xenogensis. As Dr. Strange watches via the Orb of Agamotto,
he becomes determined to stop Xenogenesis no matter the cost.

Synopsis
In the realm of the Shadow Cloak, Devil-Slayer explains his situation
and his mission to end the Xenogenesis to Valkyrie and the Hulk.
Agreeing to help Devil-Slayer transports them to Dr. Strange’s Sanctum
where they begin to plan. As the cult led by Vera Gemini summon their
master Belathauzer, Dr. Strange surmises that the cult stole the Eye of
Agamotto to speed up the Xenogenesis process, and calls for the other
members of the Defenders for assistance.
Nighthawk and Hellcat are trying out a new testing arena when
things go awry, however they are rescued by the timly arrival of the
Hulk who has come to collect them at Dr. Strange’s behest. While in
Russia, scientists researching Red Guardian’s new form realize that her
powers are beyond their own control.
While Dr. Strange’s attack on Xenogenesis on the astral plain fails,
Devil-Slayer travels to Mexico to assault the cult physically and is
confronted by the Agent of Fortune. Back at Strange’s home, the other
Defenders return to be informed by Dollar Bill that Dr. Strange is dead.

Synopsis
Continued from last issue…
As the two battle, Strange can only keep Alaric on the defensive,
until the Sub-Mariner arrives having decided to aid his friend after
all. The addition of Namor’s physical might delays Alaric even further,
and when Alaric strikes Namor he enacts the the Curse of Zartra. The
curse causes anyone who strikes a member of the Atlantian royal family
with the Sword of Kamuu would meet their own end and finds himself
severely weakened enough for the revived Clea to trap him in Dyzakk’s
Cage.
With the threat over, the Sub-Mariner takes possession of the sword, and Dr. Strange goes to Clea’s comfort.

Synopsis
Having patched up Namor’s injured shoulder following their battle
with Alaric, the undersea king leaves with the Sword of Kamuu in his
possession, but not before leaving Dr. Strange with the Eye of Zartra
jewel for Stephens protection to insure the sword is less dangerous than
it could be. With their most recent threat vanquished, Clea and Strange
retire into the Doctors Sanctum Sanctorium unaware that they are being
watched by the Dweller in the Darkness, who has renewed his efforts to
sow the seeds of doubt in the Sorcerer Supreme’s mind.
The Dweller begins travelling through his mystical realm trying
to the Hall of Fears. There he detects a mysterious presence and pulls
D’Spayre out of the blackness. The Dweller learns that D’Spayre had
retreated to this realm following his defeat at the hands of Spider-Man
and the Man-Thing
