Synopsis
Conan attends a party in his honor for rescuing the princess Yolinda
(which happened in CB-37), but swiftly turns the crowd against him with
his barbarian manners. The fop Feyd-Ratha lets Conan know that he is
aware of the barbarian’s dalliances with Commander Narim-Bey’s woman
Amytis, but Conan is in no mood to be blackmailed. During the party, a
dancing girl goes mad and attacks Conan with a knife before committing
suicide. Strange voices and shadows stalk Conan on the way home, and he
nearly attacks Amytis who had made her way to his quarters. She reveals
that Lilitu, a were-woman has marked Conan as her own and is behind the
supernatural attacks. The only one who can lift the curse is the high
priest Gimil-Ishbi, who dwells in the Mound of the Moon west of the
city. Amytis returns to her quarters, where she reveals, to an unknown
master, the conversation with Conan was part of a larger plan. Conan
finds the priest, who casts spells to lift the were-woman’s curse from
Conan. Conan repays the priest, who demands lifeblood in return for his
casting, with a quick death. Conan returns to his home, following the
instructions of the priest, and he is attacked by and captures a
wolfman, Ardet-Lilu, the mate of Lilitu. In return for sparing
Ardet-Lilu’s life, Conan makes Lilutu tell him who wanted the curse
placed on him. When he hears the name, Conan grimly lets the wolfman go,
but the two creatures quickly turn and attack Conan anew. Conan runs,
heading to the source of his troubles, Narim-Bey, who has known for some
time of his wife’s betrayal. Conan easily beats the lacking swordsman,
and leaves him for the were-creatures while stealing Narim-Bey’s horse.
Conan decides he’s had enough of Aghrapur and rides west.
Ardat-Lili (Earth-616)
Ardat-Lili was Lilitu’s inhuman mate, who was capture and tortured by Conan
to have her lift her curse cast upon him. When the Cimmerian let the
werewolf go, he quickly chased him, but he then ran across Narim-Bey and
killed him.
Gimil-Ishbi (Earth-616)
Gimil-Ishbi was once a high priest of Tarim, until he went too far in his zeal, trafficked with demons darker even than unholy Erlik and executed many of the faithful, until King Yildiz was forced him to banish him forever from Aghrapur. Visited by a haunted Conan, he taught the Cimmerian how to deal with Lilitu and her inhuman mate, Ardat Lili. Demanding a human life for payment, he was immediately killed by Conan.
Ibi-Engur (Earth-616)
Ibi-Engur was Narim-Bey’s cousin, who attempted to challenge and kill Conan during a party held in his honor for rescuing the Princess Yolinda, but he was swiftly knocked down by the Cimmerian.
Lilitu (Earth-616)
Lilitu was a were-woman who was unleashed by Narim-Bey to curse Conan.
As the Cimmerian managed to capture her inhuman mate Ardat-Lili, she
revealed to him the dark pact and lifted the curse, but, as Conan let
the werewolf go, she quickly chased him, but then ran across Narim-Bey
and killed him.

Synopsis
Bobbi angers Man-God into throwing her into the pit with Ka-Zar and
the Man-Apes before leaving them to their fate. Back in the Fall
People’s village, Zabu senses Ka-Zar’s need for help and leaves to find
him and join in the battle.
El Tigre barely manages to escape the vengeful Fall People and
finds Man-God, who abandons the pleading lackey to pursue his goals of
world domination alone. El Tigre heads into the mystic mists in attempt
to gain the same powers Maa-Gor did, but is instead horrified to find
his mind and body degraded to a bestial state, driving him to run off a
cliff to his death. Man-God returns to find the corpse and theorizes
that the mists are the source of the Savage Land’s evolutionary
anachronisms. Realizing the power to control evolution will help him
conquer the world, he dives back into the mists to find their source, a
seemingly alien machine. When he attempts to grab the machine, it splits
him into two copies: a cold and logical blue Man-God, and a violent and
emotional red Man-God. The red Man-God snaps and kills his blue half,
prompting the machine to incapacitate him with a blast of energy. The
machine then issues a report, referring to itself as a “reporter”,
explaining that the organism that touched it had created total
disharmony and it acted to restore balance.
With Man-God defeated, the revived Man-Apes vanish. Bobbi and
Ka-Zar determine that the crisis has passed and Bobbi can return home.
Elsewhere, Maa-Gor emerges from the mists, restored to his original
state.

Featured Characters:
- Thongor
Villains:
- Demon of Zangabal
Other Characters:
- Kaman Thuu (Only in flashback)
- Ald Thurmis (First appearance)
Locations:
- Zangabal
Items:
- Shield of Cathloda
Synopsis
Thongor leapt into battle with the Demon
of Zangabal, but his sword had little effect on its iron-hard body. Even the
eldritch runes upon his father’s blade had no effect on the tusked and taloned
monster. Growing bored with the barbarian, the Demon of Zangabal delivered a
stunning blow, knocking his opponent to the ground. It didn’t notice Thongor’s
hand creep toward the brazier nearby as it charged in to finish the human
off. Blinding the demon with burning oil hurled in its face, Thongor leaped to
where the fallen Shield of Cathloda lay on the floor, only to be caught in the
demon’s vise-like grip and choked into unconsciousness.
Awakening in a dungeon, Thongor met Ald Thurmis, the last dupe hired by Kaman
Thuu to steal the magical mirror of Athmar Phong. Swiftly shattering their
bonds, Thongor escaped, intent on finding both the mirror and his father’s sword.
Ard Thurmis went with him.
