da sempre il sogno americano offre una gamma di possibilità sterminate ed inimmaginabili per riuscire ad affermarsi e sfondare nella vita, infatti negli Stati Uniti chi non ha voglia di faticare può scegliere tra tre alternative: fare il pornodivo, la rockstar, oppure il super-eroe.
non particolarmente dotato per quel che riguardava le dimensioni dell’ attrezzo nè per le sue prestazioni endurance, e soprattutto essendo irrimediabilmente e scandalosamente stonato, Steve Rogers optò per la terza soluzione, e si dedicò all’ attività di buffone mascherato, indossando un bel costume tutto a stelle e strisce proprio come la bandiera della Bolivia
non essendo mai stato un modello di continuità e assiduità , cominciò però ben presto a prendersi delle lunghe pause di riposo e a rimanere spesso e volentieri a casa in mutua adducendo le patologie più disparate e insolite grazie a certificati medici compiacenti, mentre in realtà non aveva nulla e stava benissimo, negli anni del dopoguerra marcò visita addirittura per circa 15 anni consecutivi, finchè Stan Lee non lo trovò indecorosamente ubriaco in un bar del bronx nell’ orario della visita fiscale, e lo precettò costringendolo a tornare al lavoro. ma il lupo, si sa, perde il pelo ma non il vizio, e così anche ultimamente ha tirato indietro le sue chiappettine incartapecorite facendo finta di essere morto, gli hanno anche fatto il funerale, ma tanto non ci crede nessuno, si tratta invece certamente di una raffinata strategia di tanatosi mimetica, cui ricorrono anche molti animali come l’ opossum, il cinghiale, l’ insetto foglia o il serpente muso di porcello, insomma è tutta una vile e diabolica scusa per non fare un bel nulla
nelle edicole italiane il n.1 di CAP uscì il 23 Aprile 1973, ovvero alla immediata vigilia della austerity, e già questa piccola ma non trascurabile coincidenza avrebbe dovuto far toccare le palle a qualcuno all’ interno della Corno. infatti anche qui da noi svernò parecchi anni da vero e proprio mangiapane a tradimento, stipendiato senza fare un cacchio, finchè non ha provveduto Brunetta a sistemarlo con il suo provvidenziale ed inesorabile decreto anti-fannulloni

L’ incubo di tutti i traduttori – sia dilettanti che professionisti – è quello di non riuscire a trasporre correttamente ed efficacemente un titolo, e siccome quelli che svolgevano questo spregevole e malretribuito lavoro per la Corno erano spesso dei dilettanti o delle mezze cartucce, capitava loro spesso di trovarsi in difficoltà senza sapere minimamente quali pesci pigliare o finendo con l’ incappare in topiche macroscopiche e clamorose, così ad un certo momento dopo numerose ripetute e miserabili figuracce venne stabilito che quando erano in panne o non sufficientemente sicuri del fatto loro la storia avrebbe dovuto sempre essere omologata con l’ identico titolo convenzionale di “L’INCUBO DI CAP” che anche se indebito, inappropriato, arbitrario e totalmente fuori luogo faceva comunque sempre il suo bel cazzo di figurone, come appunto in questo numero dove l’ episodio originale si chiamerebbe “Scream the Scarlet Skull” (prego arrangiatevi pure da soli per il reale significato) oppure pochi albi prima – nel 93 – quando si era reso con questa stessa formulazione standard buona per tutte le stagioni anche “The mark of madness” ma almeno lì si era agito soltanto nella splashpage interna e non anche così vistosamente in copertina
contiene : GHOST RIDER che con il suo testone sempre incandescente (che fa pendant con quello color brace viva del Teschio Rosso nell’ episodio di Cap) ha però dei seri deficit cognitivi e di memoria, così in questo numero si è dimenticato di fare benzina ed è rimasto a secco, e quindi gli è toccato di rimandare la prevista visita ad Hulk e invece per riempire lo stesso le pagine ci ripropone la sua prima storia già pubblicata tempo prima su Devil Corno 105

Captain America continues his fight with the Red Skull.
When he and the Falcon come to the rescue Gabe and Peggy, the Red Skull reveals that the Falcon is actually his pawn.

- Last issue of Captain America for writer Steve Englehart.
Marvel Comics announces this issue that he would take several months
absence, but due to several circumstances, Englehart never returns to
the title.
- Sal Buscema draws the first few pages of the “Dream Sequence” this issue. The majority of this issue is drawn by Frank Robbins.

Synopsis
Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider, rides through the streets of New York
City and accidentally witnesses two men killing another. Wanting no part
of what’s happened, he rides on, but is then chased by the killers.
Upon trapping him in an alley, the men are shocked to see Blaze’s
flaming skull. The Ghost Rider points his finger, causing flame to erupt
on the ground. The men make a run for it, and Blaze rides back to
Madison Square Garden, where he transforms back into his human form. He
thinks back to try and remember what happened, hoping to find some
answers in the past.
Johnny’s father, Barton Blaze, died in a motorcycle accident when
his son was very young. Johnny was then adopted by Crash Simpson,
another stunt rider that ran his own cycle show with his wife Mona and
daughter Roxanne. Johnny grew into adolescence, and had followed his
step-father’s footsteps by taking up cycle riding. When he was fifteen,
his motorcycle caught fire during a practice session. Though he
attempted to save his family, Mona Simpson is killed in the bike’s
explosion. Before she dies, she makes Johnny promise her that he’ll
never ride in the show due to the danger, which he agrees to. Five years
later, Johnny is discovered riding in secret by Roxanne, who tells him
that she is in love with him. Later on, Crash tells the two that he has
cancer,and that the show’s performance at Madison Square Garden will be
his last, if he lives to even see that.
Determined to keep his step-father from dying, Johnny researches
some occult books, finally using them to summon “Satan” (actually the
demon lord Mephisto, in one of his many forms). In exchange for Johnny’s
soul, the devil will spare Crash Simpson from the cancer that’s killing
him. Three weeks later, Crash tells Johnny that he plans to try and
break the world’s cycle jump record at the Garden. Johnny knows he’ll be
fine, due to the deal he made with Satan. When Crash attempts to jump
it, he doesn’t make it, and dies in the resulting accident. Furious at
what happened, Blaze suits up, mounts a bike, and does the same stunt…
and makes it, breaking the world record. That night, Satan returns to
claim Johnny’s soul, claiming that he only said he’d spare Crash from
the disease and nothing else. As Mephisto prepares to take Johnny to
Hell, Roxanne enters and banishes the demon with the pure essence of her
soul. She tells Johnny that she read his books behind his back, and
learned how to send the devil away. The next night, however, Johnny
begins to burn with fever, until his head suddenly transforms into a
flaming skull. Every night since, he has undergone the transformation
into… the Ghost Rider!
