Secondo cimiteriale round del lugubre scontro tra i Vendicatori e la macabra e funerea Legione dei Non – Vivi  ossia l’ alleanza di fossa comune capitanata dal rigor mortis del mostro di Frankenstein e con gli altri cadaveri animati al servizio dello sbarellatissimo Kang:  Jim Hammond ossia quel catorcio della vecchia Torcia Umana di una volta, il defunto Fantasma dell’ Olandese Volante, il catatonico Mezzanotte/Midnight (più avanti pure Sun) , il trapassato Zemo vecchia maniera e il comatoso Uomo Mistero alias Wonder Man, e c’è pure Lo Spadaccino che è ancora semi-caldo, anzi quasi tiepido, in corso d’opera di reincarnazione vegetativa nella misteriosa ed immaginaria pianta Cotati, ma bisogna ricordarsi di annaffiarlo regolarmente , se no si avvizzisce.

contiene inoltre : il demoniaco FIGLIO DI SATANA DAIMON HELLSTROM (che successivamente visto che tutti glielo storpiavano e lo prendevano per il culo ha fatto richiesta all’ anagrafe infernale di modificare il suo cognome in HELLSTORM)

Synopsis

Tthe Avengers have been plucked from Viet Nam to the realm of Limbo by Kang who is using the newly formed Legion of the Unliving to get the Celestial Madonna (Mantis) and kill the rest of the Avengers. The first bout is between Thor and Frankenstein’s Monster, in which Thor learns that the monster is not in Kang’s control at all.

Back on Earth, the spectral image of the Swordsman confronts the mysterious robed figure that has been following the Avengers since they arrived there. While in Limbo, the other members of the Legion corner Vision and attack. However, Vision manages to escape thanks to his phasing power, however the Ghost — who can also become intangible — follows after him.

While Mantis fights alone against Midnight, Iron Man and Hawkeye manage to find each other in the winding maze. They are soon confronted by the Legion as well, and Iron Man is apparently killed by the Human Torch while Hawkeye flees to try and find the others. The Ghost manages to catch up to Vision and the two end up battling each other until the Ghost uses his phasing powers to mortally wound Vision, leaving his dieing body for Mantis to be found. This story is continued in Giant-Size Avengers #3.

Synopsis

Returning home from a night out as the Son of Satan, Daimon Hellstrom returns to his home at Fire Lake and changes back to his mortal guise. The next day her receives a letter from Katherine Reynolds at Gateway University, asking for Daimon’s exorcism expertise. Daimon calls Katherine to get the facts of the situation: He is told that the Communications Building of the university has been plagued with super-natural incidents, which include levitating objects, blue flames that do not burn, and sightings of an ice-like demon wandering the halls. Daimon accepts the job and travels out to the university the following day.

There, Daimon meets with Katherine and sets himself up for the night, and instructs her that no matter what happens she is to stay away from the Communications Building. That evening Daimon changes into the Son of Satan and goes to investigate the building in question, putting a mystical ankh symbol outside to keep any demonic entities in the building. There he is attacked by ice demons and brought to the realm of Boreas, leaving his trident behind. There Son of Satan is confronted by Ikthalon, the ruler of that dimension.

Ikthalon easily over-powers Daimon and traps him in a block of ice, and he and his demons travel back to the Earth dimension, there however they find their path barred thanks to the ankh symbol outside. However, when Katherine and the university janitor arrive on the scene, the janitor washes away the ankh away thinking it graffiti, allowing the demons to escape.

Attacking the two, Katherine makes a grab for Daimon’s trident, which burns at her touch. However, he contact with it allow Daimon to make a connection with the trident and command it to transport him back to Earth’s dimension, freeing himself. With his trident back in hand Daimon battles off the ice demons, however Ikthalon grabs Katherine and demands that he allow Ikthalon safe passage for the girls safety. Daimon agrees, however when Ikthalon lets her go, Daimon incinerates the ice demon with a hell-fire blast, telling him that he is the son of the lord of lies, and obeys no agreement.

When Katherine thanks Daimon for his help, he slaps her in the face for her interference and leaves telling her that they will discuss his payment in the morning.

Synopsis

Satan sends an emissary to a horror story publisher so that he will read the scroll of suffering and be transported to Hell as a living man. Satan wants his soul because the stories he publishes turn people away from evil, but he cannot collect it until he is dead, so he puts the curse of Satan upon the publisher to kill the first person he sees (as then he will be executed for the crime), and sends him back. But Satan forgets that the first person the publisher sees upon his return to Earth will be the emissary, and when the publisher strangles him, the body disappears so there is no criminal prosecution.
