Ritroverete i vostri incubi perduti e l’ angoscia più opprimente ed insopportabile che ha caratterizzato i vostri giorni peggiori, arrischiandovi nella temeraria lettura di questa memorabile e atipica serie corno, che pubblicava coraggiosamente alcune gemme fumettistiche tanto prelibate quanto azzardate, perlomeno per quanto riguardava la recettività di un mercato tradizionalista, bigotto e poco duttile e permeabile come quello italiano e soprattutto in quegli anni.

Il materiale è attinto da testate usa conclamatamente cult come dracula lives , monsters unleashed , the haunt of horror , tales of the zombie , vampire tales, strange tales , i serials che appaiono sono cinicamente mutuati dalla frangia più estrema, insulsa, infame , eccitante e raccapricciante della letteratura junk e del cinema di serie B (  Dracula, Morbius,  Satan la figlia del diavolo , Simon Garth lo zombie , Fratello Voo Doo , Lilith figlia di Dracula, The Man – Thing , Frankenstein ) , gli autori sono tantissimi e tutti leggendari e magnifici : Neal Adams , Gene Colan, Syd Shores , Tom Palmer , Joe Sinnott , Gil Kane , Tony De Zuniga ,  Enric Badia Romero , Val Mayerick , Vicente Alcazar , John Buscema ,Alfredo Alcala, Pablo Marcos, George Tuska, Billy Graham , Jim Starlin , Jordi Bernet , Esteban Maroto , Dick Ayers , Ernie Chua , Jesus Blasco , John Romita senior , Alfonso Font , Ralph Reese e tanti altri

Synopsis

Years ago Eric and Joan Masterson were married and lived a life of marital bliss, until that is they gave birth to their freakishly deformed son Teddy, and became a group of recluses living in deep in the wilderness of New Orleans, where Teddy has been locked up.

Years later, the Zombie is wandering these same woods, where he stumbles upon another voodoo ceremony, and recognizes Mambo Layla, the woman who tried to save his life the night that Simon Garth was transformed into the Zombie. Furious at these men, the Zombie attacks and kills them, getting lit on fire in the process. When the Zombie tries to turn his rage on Layla, she convinces him that she loved him and tried to help him, and commands the Zombie to put out its burning body in the nearby flames, the Zombie complies but is even more horribly scarred as a result.

Deciding to try and help Simon return to his normal state, he begins leading the Zombie through the swamps, and eventually happens upon a house. Knocking upon the door, she is greeted by the now deranged Eric Masterson, who grabs her and pulls her in, telling her that he will not allow her to leave until she meets his son Teddy. When Joan Masterson refuses to be party to what will probably end in Layla’s death at the hands of the feral Teddy, she runs out of the house and into the Zombie.

Her screams bring Eric coming with an axe, and he tries to attack the Zombie with it, but finds his weapon ineffectual on him. Running to the back of the house, he lets Teddy loose, who attacks the Zombie. However, when it appears that Teddy will fare no better against the Zombie, Eric tries to convince his wife to seek shelter inside Teddy’s holding pen. Joan refuses to go in the room, fearing that Layola is dead inside. However, when Eric goes inside, he finds Layola alive and well and tries to attack her, she is forced to defend herself, killing Eric with his own axe.

Exiting the shack, Layola tells all gathered that she had no choice, and the fighting stop. As Teddy and Joan mourn the loss of Eric, Layola leads the Zombie back out into the swamps hoping to find a way to cure him.

Synopsis

Brother Voodoo has been summoned to Haiti to investigate reports of Zuvembies attacking factories across the island. Going to a local grave yard he is attacked by these apparent undead soldiers and their leader: Baron Samdei. During the fight, Brother Voodoo is knocked out. While he is unconscious he reflects back on the events that brought him to Haiti, and of the Zuvembie that was in captivity of the local authorities.
When he wakes up, he finds himself strapped to a strange machine in a laboratory. He learns that Samdei is really an agent of AIM and that they have been using a device to create Zuvembie’s. However, these Zuvembies are really living people who have had their minds wiped by the machine. They intend to do the same thing to Brother Voodoo. However, the machine has seemingly no effect but Brother Voodoo pretends to be under their control to get close enough to attack Samdei and the AIM agents on hand.

During the fight, Brother Voodoo reveals that while they were busy explaining to him how the machine works that he used his powers to command a nearby lizard to chew through the machines wires. During the fight a stray shot hits the machine causing it to explode. The machines destruction frees all the “Zuvembies” under AIM’s control but also compromises the integrity of the secret base. Brother Voodoo sends everyone top side but tries to go back for Baron Samdei. However, Samdei will not go peacefully and attacks, only to be crushed to death when part of the complex collapses on him. Brother Voodoo flees the scene himself to avoid any harm and makes it out alive.
