inimmaginabili per riuscire ad affermarsi e sfondare nella vita,
infatti negli Stati Uniti chi non ha voglia di faticare può scegliere
tra tre alternative: fare il pornodivo, la rockstar, oppure il
super-eroe.

particolarmente dotato per quel che riguardava le dimensioni dell’

irrimediabilmente e scandalosamente stonato, Steve Rogers optò per la
terza soluzione, e si dedicò all’ attività di buffone mascherato,

essendo mai stato un modello di continuità e assiduità , cominciò però
ben presto a prendersi delle lunghe pause di riposo e a rimanere spesso
e volentieri a casa in mutua adducendo le patologie più disparate e
insolite grazie a certificati medici compiacenti, mentre in realtà non
aveva nulla e stava benissimo, negli anni del dopoguerra marcò visita
addirittura per circa 15 anni consecutivi, finchè Stan Lee non lo trovò
indecorosamente ubriaco in un bar del bronx nell’ orario della visita
fiscale, e lo precettò costringendolo a tornare al lavoro. ma il lupo,
si sa, perde il pelo ma non il vizio, e così anche ultimamente ha
tirato indietro le sue chiappettine incartapecorite facendo finta di
essere morto, gli hanno anche fatto il funerale, ma tanto non ci crede
nessuno, si tratta invece certamente di una raffinata strategia di
tanatosi mimetica, cui ricorrono anche molti animali come l’ opossum,
il cinghiale, l’ insetto foglia o il serpente muso di porcello, insomma
è tutta una vile e diabolica scusa per non fare un bel nulla
nelle
edicole italiane il n.1 di CAP uscì il 23 Aprile 1973, ovvero alla
immediata vigilia della austerity, e già questa piccola ma non
trascurabile coincidenza avrebbe dovuto far toccare le palle a qualcuno
all’ interno della Corno. infatti anche qui da noi svernò parecchi anni
da vero e proprio mangiapane a tradimento, stipendiato senza fare un
cacchio, finchè non ha provveduto Brunetta a sistemarlo con il suo provvidenziale ed inesorabile decreto anti-fannulloni

storia principale speciale ed estesa di ben 34 pagine con Cap ed il perplesso ed incerto Falcon a fronteggiare le tentazioni rivoluzionarie degli afroamericani in subbuglio nei ghetti di Harlem che nonostante repressioni ed anestesie sociali continueranno a propagarsi nel tempo e nello spazio fino ad oggi con le analoghe e rianimate utopie di giustizia, uguaglianza e pluralismo predicate dai vicoli e dalle chiese occupate di Napoli

Synopsis
Burn, Harlem, Burn! And our star-spangled teammates are helpless to
stop it – unless they can unmask the greatest villain of all!
A recurring theme (not just
from Leila) is that the Falcon’s job as Sam Wilson, social worker,
actually makes him an Uncle Tom to his community. “Our people need
heroes, man. Not handouts.” And Leila and her associates, including
Rafe Michel…
…are looking for radical solutions to the problems of the black ghetto.
While
Reverend Garcia is in the hospital, Leila shows up to announce that
she’s going to be helping to instigate a riot.
A masked riot-starter is instigating the riots…
…and he turns out to be the Red Skull.
Once the Red Skull is
exposed, the riots fizzle out, and after putting Cap and the Falcon in
an obligatory death trap, the Red Skull escapes.
The fact that the
Red Skull was behind the riots doesn’t mean the underlying problems are
gone, however, and there’s obvious tension between Cap and the
Falcon…
…made worse by the fact that the Falcon and Leila are attracted to each other.

- Rafe Michel, a black activist, petty criminal and leader of
the Silver Skulls is introduced in this issue. He will continue to
appear off and on in this title until his death in Captain America #178 (in Italy in CAPC #90). Rafe’s last name is revealed in Captain America #151 (in Italy in CAPC #63). - Backgrounds are probably inked in this issue by Tony Mortellaro (uncredited).
- Captain America helps the Avengers in Amazing Adventures #8 (in Italy in THC #59-60) and then participates in the Kree-Skrull War (Avengers #93/97, in Italy in THC #108/111), then makes a brief appearance in Iron Man #44 (in Italy in URC #133) shortly after this story.
Trivia
- The Falcon appears on the cover of this issue in his new red
outfit. However, he does not appear in the new costume until next issue
Captain America #144.

Synopsis
Fighting to free Lorna Dane from Mesmero and his Demi-Men in the
Mutant City, the X-Men are confronted with the fact that their old foe
Magneto is alive and well. Magneto reveals that Lorna is his daughter
and offers Lorna and the X-Men the chance to join his army of mutants in
taking over the world. The X-Men, Iceman in particular due to his
romantic interest in Lorna, decline the offer and strike out at Magneto.
As Magneto orders Mesmero and the Demi-Men to counter attack, Iceman
grabs Lorna and makes a run for it.
Ordering Iceman to help them out, the X-Men are outnumbered by
the attacking Magneto, Mesmero and Demi-Men, who overpower the X-Men.
Eventually, the X-Men fight off their attackers and turn their attention
to Magneto; however he is saved, much to the shock of Iceman, by Lorna
herself. The X-Men are forced to flee and retreat with Magneto bellowing
after them that his minions will kill them all.
Returning to Hank and Bobby’s apartment, Scott orders Bobby to
sit the coming battle out due to his emotions toward Lorna. Furious at
being ordered to do so, Bobby angrily storms out of the room. Scott
tells the team not to worry about Bobby as he believes the young love
struck man will eventually cool down, and they begin planning their next
move.
Several days later, the outer defenses of the Mutant City are
attacked by a new evil mutant calling himself Erik the Red. Frightening
off the guards, Erik orders them to go and collect their master Magneto,
as he would like to join his mutant militia.
